Happy 80th Birthday!: Mrs. Shirley H. Brown

Mrs. Shirley H. Brown, a native of Abbeville, AL. was born February 9, 1939, and grew up in Panama City, Florida, where she graduated from High School and Junior College.

She is the fourth of six children born to the Late Frank and Lillian Kincey Hogans. She is the mother of four children, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Her husband’s career in the United States Air Force brought their family to Hill AFB, Utah, the first tour in 1969-70, and after, tours to Louisiana and Germany, a second tour in 1976. While in Germany she attended The University of Maryland European Campus and she graduated from Weber State College in 1979. Her husband, William W. Brown I, retired from the Air Force in 1979 and passed away in 2004. A son and daughter (William and Michele) presently live in the area, a daughter (Melba) lives in Lee’s Summit, MO. and a son (Michael) lives in Baton Rouge, LA.

Mrs. Brown enjoys her church work and for some 35 years has been active at the Local, State and National Levels. She has earned several awards for her church work. Her career with the U.S. Government began in 1966 in Panama City, FL. She worked at all of the bases where the family were stationed, including Wiesbaden, Germany, and retired from Hill AFB in 1993 after 24 years of service.

An Open House in her honor, will be held at Riverdale City Community Center, 4360 Parker Drive, Riverdale, UT. on Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 5:30-7:30 PM.
