Betty Eliza Frogget Erickson

Dec 15, 2014

May 25, 1924 ~ December 13, 2014

Born to Mary Inez Hulsey and Willie Daniel Frogget, Betty grew up in Clinton, and attended Davis High School and Weber State College. She wed Floyd Joseph Erickson on September 12, 1945, a marriage later sealed in the Logan Temple. At his death, they had been together for 60 years.

An extremely gifted musician and performer, her beautiful alto voice was spotlighted in the Ogden pageant “All Faces West,” especially in a successful trio called the Symphonettes, for many years. An accomplished pianist, she played classical, popular, and even bluegrass music. She blessed many area youths by writing and directing road shows; one show was chosen Church wide as an outstanding accomplishment. She served many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She also was school secretary at Clinton Elementary, and a school librarian. She delighted many with her humor and quick wit.

Most of all, she cherished her children and family. The song “My Mothers Love” was written in tribute of her great devotion as a mother. She nurtured faith, values, and musical abilities in her two children. She will be greatly missed by her children Jan (Judy) Erickson and Jean (Lyle) Barnes; 13 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Thanks to HCNU hospice care, mother died at home.
