James Hamblen

James N. Hamblen passed away January 11, 2015 at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home. Jim was born at home in Riverdale, Utah July 9, 1924 to James and Estella Curto Hamblen. He attended school in Riverdale and graduated from Weber High School in 1942.

In 1943 he was drafted and inducted into the U.S Army. He served basic training at Camp Grant in Rockford, Illinois. He was then assigned to duty in Europe, serving in Ireland, England and France. He was released in 1946. He remained in the inactive reserve until he was recalled during the Korean War for another year with a total of four years military service.

He married Louise Salimeno in 1946. They were later divorced. He later married Elaine Hawkes Jensen. They lived in Logan, Utah until her death in 1991. He later returned to Ogden where he met and married Marjorie Snyders Mecham. He retired after 30 years with the U.S Postal service.

Jim was part owner of The Troc Lounge and Grill in Ogden for over 30 years along with his sister, Marion and her husband, Wayne Garfield.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, two stepsons Jeff Mecham and Greg (Amber) Mecham, and brother Ronald C. Hamblen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Mike Hamblen, Denise Hamblen, Kristine and Len Janson; Janet and Hans Maass, Mike (Lynda) Garfield, and Jim (Becky) Garfield.

His sister Marion Garfield preceded him in death.

By the deceased request,there will be no services and burial will be by cremation.
