Linda Farrell West

Oct 7, 2015

July 26, 1945 ~ October 2, 2015

Linda Farrell West returned to our Heavenly Father October 2, 2015. She was born on July 26, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert Howe Farrell and Lillian May Belliston Farrell. While attending Weber State College, Linda met Roy Edward West, a “cowboy from Wyoming.” They were married on March 26, 1966 and shortly thereafter, sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent nearly all of the next 49 years happily married in South Ogden, Utah.

Linda is survived by her husband, Roy; her children, James Roy (Stephanie), Thomas Edward (Melinda), Daniel Lyman (Anna), Carolyn Mary (Mark); her sister, Dianne Hale; her brother, Robert Thomas Farrell; also 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Linda loved ice skating. She taught skating lessons for several years. Her lifelong passion for ice skating culminated at the age of 56 when she was selected to skate in the 2002 Winter Olympic opening ceremonies.

Linda was a successful business woman while simultaneously raising five children. She sold Avon door to door, and later ran a nail salon and watch business from home. Her entrepreneurial skills led her into business with her best friend Lula Day. Together they created Times Ticking, a successful business for 17 years and employed over 60 people. In “retirement” she actively participated in a card making group and continued to spread happiness through her card creations.

Linda was patriotic, compassionate, and extremely creative. Her imagination was incomparable. She was often caught dancing to her favorite music while keeping an impeccable house. She was known to use her energetic personality to lift spirits and create laughter. She had a gift for recognizing people in need and would often ask “may I help you?”

Linda loved her family. She worked hard to build and nurture loving relationships with each of her grandchildren no matter how close or far away they lived. She loved her husband Roy dearly and diligently supported him as he served as a Scout Leader, Fireman, and Kiwanis Club member.

She served faithfully in many church callings; Young Womens being the dearest to her heart. Above all, she loved her Savior, and strived to live the Gospel to the best of her ability.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; and her youngest son, Michael.
