Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Irene Margaret Brophy passed away peacefully August 29, 2015 at the age of 91.

Irene was born to Otis H. and Florence Lewis Henrix April 2, 1924 in Pampa, TX. She was the youngest of five children. She had a very humble life, being raised on a farm with her siblings and always knew the value of hard work, sacrifice and a great sense of humor.

She married Robert W. Brophy in 1941 and they had four children together; they were married for 28 years before divorcing in 1969.

Irene spent much of her life in California and Oregon. She was a resident of Ogden, UT at the time of her passing.

She was a fun, giving woman who will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God and her special bond with her many animals over the years. She was always willing to help anyone who needed her and this was a true testament to her faith.

Irene is survived by her children: Barbara Brophy, Robert Brophy (Micki) and Debra Insco; sister, Allene Horton; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Frison, Howard and Robert; daughter, Gina; and grandsons, Darryl and Troy.

She will be missed dearly, but we are so happy for her undoubtedly joyous reunion with all of her loved ones waiting for her, especially her daddy, whom she lost at a young age and yearned to see again for the last 76 years.

A special thanks to Legacy House of Ogden for providing a wonderful place for her to call home the last three years and also Mt. Ogden Nursing and Rehab for the extra special care they showed her.

Private Services will be held by her family.
