George Max Adams

George Max Adams, age 87, passed away on August 15, 2016, at his home in Ogden, Utah. He was the devoted husband of Donna Joy Poorman Adams with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.

“Max” was born in Layton, Utah, on November 2, 1928, the 13th child of George Henry Adams and Mary Ann Green and was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

After graduating from Davis High, he spent the majority of his career as a machinist at Hill Air Force Base.

Dad had a great sense of humor and was always caring and generous with everyone he knew. After retiring he spent many hours fly fishing and camping with the family on the Madison. He also enjoyed riding his horse with his brothers, “The Not So Young Riders”, in the Clearfield 4th of July parades.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; his two daughters, Karen Sue Yonemura (Doug) and Bonnie Lynn Adams; three grandsons: Brian Michael Steffen (Rebecca) Idaho Falls, Idaho; Jason William Kay; Brandon Joel Kay (Mandy); eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Rock Cliff 3rd Ward, 236 Porter Avenue, Ogden. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd and prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery.
