Dennis Gene Oliver
October 29, 1942 ~ July 24, 2016
Our Superman, Dennis Oliver, passed away July 24, 2016, due to complications from COPD.
Denny spent most of his life as an amazing musician; writing music, playing guitar, and teaching others to play. Besides music, Denny loved playing golf, camping, and working in his beautiful, park-like yard. Our dad was kind, patient, intelligent and witty.
In his early years he was married to Barbara Leferink and Jeannie Hughes Bybee. Through his marriage to Jeannie, together they taught us that “DNA does not make a family”.
Denny leaves behind his wife and angel, Delores (Dee) Oliver; his brother, Troy Oliver; and his kids – Lani (Scott) Rounds, Shon (Rena) Oliver, Eric Oliver, Lori (Troy) Vigil, and Kristi Bybee. Denny also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he loved dearly. He is also survived by Dee’s children: Carma (Dave) Baker, Deon (Jody) Sully, Lynn (Debbie) Malone and Donnie Malone. Denny was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Arlene Oliver; parents, Eugene and Phyllis Oliver; and sister, Jeri Kay Rosas.
As per our dad’s wishes, his body was donated to University of Utah for medical research. He adamantly requested that there be no formal funeral or burial. Denny’s family will gather privately to celebrate his life.
The family would like to thank Brighton Hospice, Mt. Ogden Care Center and Nurse Ann for their patience, care, kindness and compassion. We would also like to thank Donnie Malone for selflessly taking care of his mom, the house and the yard, so our dad could rest more easily.
