March 7, 1926 ~ August 28, 2017

Our short, fun-loving, feisty mother, grandmother, aunt and friend returned home to her Father in Heaven and loving family whom patiently have been waiting for her on August 28, 2017, at the age of 91. Gloria was born on March 7, 1926, to Olaf and Fanny Lassen, in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School and married Keith Griggs.

She completed her time here on Earth by raising her children, loving her grandchildren, and loving those that crossed her path. She was a member of the LDS church. She taught in the Primary and Relief Society for many years.

Gloria enjoyed golf, bowling, and traveling with her siblings across the country. She worked at Hill Air Force Base for 23 years and Jensen Floral. Her favorite thing to do was go to Hebgen Lake to camp with her family in the summertime. She is remembered for her positive outlook on life and keeping our family close. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Judy Metzger; three sons, Jeff Griggs, Dennis (Shelley) Griggs, and Dave (Brenda) Griggs; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Barbra (John) Bingham; her brother, Jerry Lassen; and her parents.

Arrangements entrusted to Leavitt’s Mortuary.

A viewing will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary, located at 836 36th street, Ogden, Utah, on Friday, September 1, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 2, 2017, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. with a funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Interment at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park.
