Melda Elaine Martell Tanner

Melda Elaine Martell Tanner, age 79, passed away Sunday morning, June 25, 2017. Melda was born on July, 6, 1937, in Spanish Fork, Utah, a child to William Arthur Martell and May Reynolds.

Melda married Karl Tanner on October 6, 1956, and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Melda has been active in the LDS church, serving in numerous callings. Melda was also active in “Utah Daughters of Pioneers,” organizing numerous fund raisers and events.

Melda has nine children, 37 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her parents and her brothers, Keith and Milton. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Karl Tanner; her brother, Leonard Ellis; her sons: Jon Tanner, Marty Tanner (Sheri), Steve Tanner (Erlene), Dan Tanner (Alisa), Brian Tanner, Gary Tanner (Wendi) and Tom Tanner (Kim); and her daughters: Cindy Hamilton (Rob) and Cathy Moon (Daren); and her beloved dog, Outlaw.

A viewing service will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at the Roy 16 Ward church house, 4524 S. 2525 West, Roy, Utah. Followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at the Roy Cemetery.
