July 15, 1951 ~ June 27, 2017

SOUTH OGDEN – On Tuesday, June 27, 2017, Adell Heiner Sharp returned to her Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma, while being surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 15, 1951, to Loren Alma and Larine Petersen Heiner, in Ogden, Utah. She grew up in Ogden, Utah, attending Gramercy Elementary, Mount Ogden Jr. High, and Ogden High School. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1969.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the primary and as a visiting teacher. Her two favorite pastimes in her youth and beyond were bowling and movies.

On March 15, 1974, Adell married Dearl Joseph Sharp in the Ogden Utah LDS Temple. She became a mother on January 30, 1976, when her oldest daughter, Stephanie, was born. Adell had three more daughters: Jennifer, Melissa and Staci. One of Adell’s greatest joys were her children. She had great joy in helping her daughters in every aspect of their lives. She was loving and supporting in every endeavor her children pursued, always cheering them to do their best and be their best. Not only did Adell love her children, she was the model grandmother to her 13 grandchildren and loved spending any opportunity she could with them.

Throughout her life, she worked at: Cutters Laboratory, Iomega, ZCMI, Autoliv and lastly at the Internal Revenue Service. She attended cosmetology school and loved to help others with coloring their hair or giving them a perm. Adell is known for her famous pumpkin pies; a first place winner in any baking contest she entered. She loved to bake and would often be found in her kitchen making the latest desserts or meals to share with those she loved. Adell had a big heart, and was always putting others before herself, and often went without so others could have things they needed.

Adell is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marla Francis; brother, Loren Ross Heiner; brothers-in-law: Ned Sharp, Vern Brown, Michael Epling, Val Cox and Preston Lake; sister-in-law, Beverly White; in-laws, Clyde and Clarice Sharp; and son-in-law, Jason Fairchild.

Adell is survived by her loving husband, Dearl; her daughters: Stephanie (Jon) Johnson, Jennifer (Richard) Jackson, Melissa (Michael) Willson and Staci (Kelly) Jabczynski; 13 grandchildren; brother, Doug (Sue) Heiner; sisters: Joan Christiansen, Lorna Cox, Genette (Steve) Child and Tami (Phil) Denby.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the Burch Creek 3rd Ward, 5161 S. 1300 East, South Ogden, UT. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 West, Roy, UT, and prior to services from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the church.
