Arvil Glen Kocherhans

Dec 17, 2021

1943 – 2021

Finally, together:

I passed away on December 14, 2021 due to COVID. I was born July 21, 1943 in Provo, Utah. I grew up in Pleasant Grove, number 5 of 7 children to Glen and Thelma (Tolley) Kocherhans.

I graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and Seminary. When I looked at this brunette in Seminary and she looked at it me, it was all over. I knew that she was the one I would spend eternity with. And no better place to meet than in Seminary.

We were married two years later in the Manti Temple. We moved to Pasadena, California and then to Burbank where our first daughter Lisa was born, followed by Holly, Monica, and Tama.

I worked for Pacific Telephone until we moved back to Utah in 1972 and work for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph, Mountain Bell, U.S. West, Quest, then retired after 36 years.

My wife Leah and I have always had a strong testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We diligently served in many callings throughout our lives. Each of our children grew up in the church, and were active in all youth programs.

My celestial companion was taken from us on December 10, 2019. When Leah passed to the other side after nearly 57 years of being joined at the hip, she took a part of our hearts with her. I am now with her. “What Joy”.

We are survived by our four beautiful daughters: Lisa (Tom) Rock, Holly (Mike) Berry, Monica (Jason) Anderson, Tama (Rob) Congdon and our ten wonderful grandchildren, and one great-grandson. I am also survived by a sister Glenda, brothers, Lawrence, Dennis and Norman.

Preceded in death by my wife Leah and brothers: Daryl, Gary and grandson Austin, and son-in-law, Rob Congdon.

This test of mortality has brought its fair share of sorrows and heartache, but so many blessings in return. We (Leah and I) have looked forward to, and prepared ourselves for this day. We are both busy preparing to receive each of our children and grandchildren in their turn.

I will be laid to rest next to Leah in the Clinton City Cemetery.

A viewing will be held Monday December 20, 2021, 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Myers Mortuary 5865 S 1900 W Roy, Utah. A private graveside service will be for Family only.
