Arthur L. Johnson, Jr.

July 16, 1930 — December 27, 2021

Lifelong resident of Ogden, UT, Arthur L. Johnson, Jr., 91, passed away on December 27, 2021. He was born on July 16, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Arthur L. Sr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Coop Johnson. He grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School.

He married Evelyn Fae Evans on July 1, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple and they later divorced. He married Beverly Jean Moss on June 21, 1985 in Ogden, Utah, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 21, 1993. Beverly passed away on April 29, 2014.

Arthur was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in various positions including as a Stake Missionary and Scout Master for several years. He was also an Eagle Scout and spent many hours working on Genealogy.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family at the cabin. He was the founder and former President of the Aspen Hills Owners Association.

Arthur is survived by his children, Daniel J. (Ruth) Johnson, of Firth, ID, Arthur L. (Susan) Johnson III of Willard, UT, and Paul (Cindy) Clough of Clinton, UT; daughters, Stephanie J. Chadwick of Roy, UT, Debbie Hastings of Harrisville, UT, Kathy (Gary) Mortimer of Tremonton, UT; Deonna Johnson of Enterprise, UT, and Carolyn Bevan of Tooele, UT; 38 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Lorna) Johnson of South Weber, UT, David (Bonnie) Johnson of Clinton, UT, and Kenneth (Margene) Johnson of North Ogden, UT; and sister, Dorothy Hare of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife, sons, Arthur Daniel Johnson, David Wayne Johnson, Kenneth Rex Johnson, William Evan Johnson, Charles V. Chadwick and Daniel Hastings; daughter, Kari Ann Clough White; brothers, Jessie Johnson and Don Hare; and sisters, Carolyn (George) Henderson and Rhoda Johnson, parents and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
