Margaret Lou Hansen Redford Halling

Margaret Lou Hansen Redford Halling, 90, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021.

She was born on March 5th, 1931, in Ogden, Utah at the old Dee Hospital to John Henry and Florence Elizabeth Hansen Hansen.

She grew up in Idaho in the Teton Valley, where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1948.

She eloped with Bruce Redford on April 24, 1950. in Rexburg, Idaho. Their vows were later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 29, 1951. Bruce died on December 28, 1983.

They lived in Kanesville, (West Haven) Utah, where they raised their family. Her children and their spouses are, Kathy Wright, twins Dean and Dan (both deceased), Lloyd and Barbara (deceased), Connie and Dean Odenwalder, Kenneth and Diane, Marjean and Paul Lythgoe, Kelly and Rob Schenk. Along with many grand and great grandchildren.

She later married Ray Halling on September 26, 1996. He died on December 12, 1999.

She retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1987, after 23 years as a sheet metal mechanic.

She has been active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life and has served in many callings. She is a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Her life was filled with service to others. She always had a handwritten card or letter, and a loaf of homemade bread ready to brighten someone’s day. She will be remembered for her funny jokes and hilarious costumes. She loved to make people laugh!

For 6 1/2 years she has resided with her daughter Kelly, in Sunset, Utah. She was a resident of Sunridge Assisted Living in Roy, Utah, for the last 5 months.

At her request, there will be no formal services.

Internment in the Cache Clawson Cemetery, Tetonia, Idaho
