J. Clair (Jake) Robinson (Sr) 84, passed away at his home on November 25, 2021.

Clair was born March 30, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, the son of James Earl Robinson and Marvel Alice Olsen. Clair graduated from Weber High School in 1956. Clair, at age 18, enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served in the 45th Special Rifle Company Marine Corps reserves in Ogden, UT.

In 1957 Clair met the love of his life and soul mate Carrie Jones (Malad, ID) and they were married January 17, 1958. Later, their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden Temple. Together they have three children. Clair was a great family man he deeply loved his wife, children, and most of all his grandchildren.

During his life Clair worked for 28 years at Hill Air Force Base as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic. He also owned Clair Sinclair gas station in Slaterville, UT.

Clair loved to go camping, playing baseball and pinochle, fishing, horseback riding, motorcycle riding and hunting. Clair was a master storyteller and loved all types of shooting sports. Clair also was a director for Weber Wildlife Federation for many years. Clair always had candy in his pocket to give to the children at church and was affectionately known by all as the ‘candy man’. Above all his many accomplishments, he was first and foremost a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife Carrie Robinson of Warren, three children, J Max Robinson, J.C. (LeeAnn) Robinson Jr of Hooper, Robyn (Mark) Lowther both from Plain City and seven grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, brother Byron and sister Shirley.

The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to IHC Hospice, in particular Julie Lee, for their efforts in keeping dad comfortable in his last days.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 4, 2021, 11 am at the Warren Ward, 856 N. 5900 W., Warren, Utah. Viewings will be Friday, December 4, 2021, 6-8 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah and prior to services 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Interment at the Uintah Cemetery, 1500 E. 6450 S. Uintah, Utah.
