Oct 12, 2021

12 June 1929 — 7 October 2021

Deacon Robert Bambrick, 92, passed away October 7 at home with his family following a battle with colon cancer.

GOD was Bob’s first love, then his family, then his country.

Bob was born to Cecilia Trepczynski and Robert W. Bambrick in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Bob spent many hours on Lake St. Clair swimming and fishing.

Bob served in the Marine Corps from 1946-1951 with 2+ years in Cuba. He achieved Staff Sergeant prior to his honorable discharge.

Bob joined the Knights of Columbus and met Louis Hebben who introduced him to his daughter Pauline Hebben. That introduction led to 66+ years of happiness and adventure. Bob and Pauline married on January 29, 1955 in Detroit.

In 1961, Bob was hired by Thiokol Corp. He moved Pauline and his children to Brigham City. Bob worked for Thiokol until 1987 when he retired as a department manager.

The Bambrick family was very active at St. Henrys Catholic Church. December 1976, Bob was ordained the first permanent Deacon for the Diocese of Salt Lake City by Bishop Federal. Bob served many assignments in Utah, plus simultaneously serving 25 years in the South Eastern Deanery of the Diocese of Boise. Deacon Bob loved visiting the sick. At the time of his death, Bob was stationed at St. James Catholic Church in Ogden. As a gardener for the Lord, he faithfully served 44 years as a Deacon.

Bob tended his personal garden daily and shared the harvest with many. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his sons and grandsons. Bob always said, “Every minute of fishing adds one hour to your life.”

Bob is survived by his wife, Pauline, and their children: Mary Bambrick (UT), Anne and Kory Yelderman (MO), Louise and Denny Schwartz (UT), Robert and Caroline Bambrick (CA), and Paul and Alison Bambrick (UT). He is also survived by his sister Joan D’Addario and brother Marvin Bambrick. He loved his 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren (plus two on the way).

The Rosary begins at 6pm, October 15, 2021, St. James Catholic Church, 495 North Harrison Blvd, Ogden. Viewing follows from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James, 11am, October 16, 2021. Bob will be buried in the Brigham City Cemetery at 3pm. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Bob asked for prayers.
