Jayne D. Mott

Oct 12, 2021

1947 — 2021

Jayne Dansie Mott, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away October 2, 2021, from complications related to COVID-19. She was born on April 13, 1947, to Arthur Haleman and Loraine Hand Dansie. She was raised and educated in Murray and graduated from Murray High School and attended Utah State University.

She met Dean Garold Mott “Gary” at a dance, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 16, 1967. She worked and retired from Davis School Foods as a “Lunch Lady” and manager.

She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served willingly in many callings in various auxiliaries. She also served many years in the Bountiful Temple.

Her most important accomplishment by far, though, was that she was a wonderful wife and mother.

She enjoyed reading, doing counted cross-stitch, word searches, Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles, watching BYU sports and playing games with her family—but she believed in playing STRICTLY by the written rules!

Her granddaughter, Jessica, has been a great roommate to her for the past 10+ years and has been a great comfort to her since she lost her husband two years ago.

She is survived by Jennifer Krall (Pete), Jason (Tamme), Stephanie Lynch (Tom), Jonathan (Jenny) and Steven (Lashae), fifteen grandchildren and siblings Brent, JoLynne Edwards, Kent and Ann Dansie. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville 5th Ward, 201 S. 600 E., Kaysville, Utah. Friends may visit with family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main St., Kaysville, Utah, and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

Services will be live-streamed and may be viewed at www.lindquistmortuary.com by scrolling to the bottom of Jayne’s obituary page.
