Laverna Nalder, 62, of Layton passed away on September 25th 2021 from pancreatic cancer. She was resting at home with her family attending her.

Laverna was born in Ogden to parents Earl Jr. and Joan Hutchinson. She was one of two daughters of their 8 children. She grew up in Roy and graduated from Roy High School in 1977. She met Lane Nalder Jr. in 1984 and they married in October 1986. They have four children together: Becky, Tres, Eric and Julie. Laverna became a grandmother in 2016 to Lorilai. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncle and brothers Samuel and Daniel. Surviving her are her husband, Lane; her four children, her granddaughter; her brothers Jim (Nancy), Brian (Dodie), Cheyney, Reynold; her sister Cindy (RJ); her sister-in-law Donnie along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that loved her.

Laverna worked at the IRS before she started her dream job: being a full-time mother. She later became a caretaker for her brother Reynold and for her mother Joan. She was hard working, compassionate and supported all those around her.

She enjoyed camping trips and going to the zoo. She was always cheering on the Utah Jazz. She loved playing with her granddaughter. We miss her and will cherish every memory we have of her.
