Victoria Mary Dobrin Laramee

Oct 15, 2021

“Bye all! I just wanted to let all my wonderful friends know I am off on my next adventure. I am meeting up with the Love of my life Bill; my youngest daughter, Terry; and my brother Ted. I will miss all of you but know I am always there in your hearts as you have been in mine, Carol, we have always had a special relationship and we have made some wonderful memories. I love you more than you will ever know, and I can’t say it enough but thank you for all you have done for me, especially over the last couple of years. I know it wasn’t easy, but I also know I wasn’t easy either. “E pili ma una pomaida’l ia ‘oe. Aloha Wau la ‘oe.” May blessings ever be with you. Goodbye I love you.”

Victoria Mary Dobrin Laramee passed on October 7, 2021. Vicki was born on May 5, 1934, in Youngstown, Ohio to Teodore and Maria Pirtea. She had one biological brother, Teodore Jr. who passed in 1999. Vicki was adopted at birth by her loving parents Basile and Victoria Dobrin. Vicki’s biological and adoptive parents were from Romania a heritage that she was very proud of. Vicki remained fluent in speaking, writing, and reading Romanian. When Vicki was 10 years old, she and her parents moved to California. Growing up Vicki had a love for her horses where she would ride and competed in races and won multiple medals and trophies.

Vicki graduated in 1951 from Chaffey High School (Fontana, California) and graduated from cosmetology school when she was 18. While working in her mother’s hair salon through a client she met the love of her life William Earl Laramee. They were married January 17, 1953. Theirs was a love story for the ages and they were able to enjoy 52 years of marriage on this earth. Their union brought two beautiful daughters into this world, Carol Lynn Laramee Thornhill (Daniel) and Terry Ann Laramee. Vicki loved spending time with her husband and family, traveling in their camper, fishing, deer hunting and especially loved her annual trip to Kona, Hawaii. Vicki loved to travel and take cruises; she was always willing to go anytime to anywhere. She loved to sew, do crafts, shop, and had a natural talent for growing anything, and loved to tend to her beautiful garden and yard.

Vicki worked at the Internal Revenue Service Center in Ogden and made many friends who she loved with all her heart and remained close with until her passing.

Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband William Earl Laramee (2005), youngest daughter Terry Ann Laramee (1999), brother Teodore Jr. Pirtea (1999). She is survived by her daughter Carol Lynn Laramee Thornhill (Daniel), her three grandchildren Lex Laramee Cassiere, Tara Lynn Thornhill Smith (Michael), and Jacob Laramee Thornhill, and four great grandchildren Maddison Smith, Gaige Smith, Lex Conner Cassiere and Jackson Cassiere.

Vicki and her family would also like to thank the staff at Sunridge Assisted Living. You were a part of our family, and she loved each one of you.
