Marlene Rose Yates

Sep 21, 2021

It is with a heavy, but hopeful heart we say goodbye to our beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother, Marlene Rose Yates, who passed away unexpectedly on Sunday September 19, 2021.

Marlene was born in Sake Lake City, Utah, to Douglas Jay Rose and Vauna Gunn (Burnham) on October 10, 1955. She was the fourth of five children: Brent Rose, Mark Rose, Marsha Morgan, and Vaughn Rose. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Yates, and their children, Riley (Chelsey, spouse), Parker, Trey, Seaver (Katelyn, spouse), and the treasure of her life, her grandchildren, Cooper, Blakely, Tenley, Oliver, Lochlan, and Lilyanna.

If you knew Marlene, you knew she took you as you are. She would go the extra mile to serve and help, always giving a listening ear or extending a kind word. To her kids’ friends she was like a second mom. To her nieces and nephews, she was the fun aunt. No matter who you were she was ready to serve, entertain, advise, or feed you. If she wasn’t doing those things, she was doing two things: cultivating her faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, and being with her grandchildren. Words cannot express how much her love, attention, and physical presence will be missed by those kids because she meant the world to them.

So, while we say “goodbye” for now, we put our trust in the promises the Lord has made and look forward to the day we are all reunited again.

We love you mom.
