Russell Leo Woodward

1956 — 2022

Russell Woodward of Kaysville, Utah past away from complications of a stroke. At age 65 he was surrounded by all his children as he returned home to his loving Heavenly Father.

Dad graduated from Emery High School in 1974 continued his education as a pipe fitter working side by side with his dad. Working in electrical instrumentation Dad provided for his family and found joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In Dad’s younger days he spent time scuba diving, fishing, and camping. Later in life creating beautiful works of art in his wood shop and learning the new skill of photography.

Dad has always been a joker with a smile on his face. His quick wit and huge sense of humor always created instant friends. From clever jokes to drawn out pranks Dad always enjoyed a good laugh. Teasing people that “he lost his leg to a shark attack off the coast of California.” Even a hospital bed and an unfavorable circumstance couldn’t keep dad from teasing his nurses and family.

Dad is a fighter! Strong in mind, body and spirit. With what some people would consider a bad hand of cards Dad created a fulfilling life for him and all those he loved.

Russell is survived by his children: Bobbiejo Borden (Tobey), Leo Woodward, Scott Woodward (Cindy), Shannon Spencer (Steve), and also Angela Mamalis (Mark), Blake Rother, Bryce Rother (Natalie), and Amanda Thacker (David). His mother Ruby Woodward, sisters: Linda Seager (Lee), Elaine Prows (Michael), Judy Sorensen (Jeff), Brenda Valdez (Kenny). Grandchildren: Montana, Brock, Rhys, Collin, Ruby, Oliver, George, Ella, Brayden, Porter, Lola, Claire and Great Grandchild: Mayella.

Preceded in death by his Father Leo Woodward, brother-in-law Lee Seager, stepson Brandon Stebbins and his wife Leigh Woodward.

Dad, thank you for being our rock, our safe place and our biggest supporter you will be greatly missed!

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville Rock Chapel 25 S. 200 E. Kaysville, Utah. Friends may visit family Tuesday August 2, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main St. Kaysville, Utah and Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

A special thanks to our nurses at Davis Hospital. Trish, thanks for taking special care of Dad when we couldn’t! Your connection to dad and our family made all the difference for us and him. You. Are. Amazing!
