Nancy Joyce (Keener) Hamilton

Nancy Joyce (Keener) Hamilton passed away July 26, 2022, at the age of 84. Joyce was born on January 11, 1938, in Colorado Springs, CO to Grace Avery (Polly) (Haggard) Keener and James H Keener. She attended Cripple Creek High School and graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1959 with a B.A. in Teaching. Joyce met her sweetheart Robert B Hamilton at the University of Wyoming, and they were married on June 10, 1961, in Colorado Springs, CO. She was very involved as a scout leader for more than 50 years, receiving the Silver Beaver Award for her service in one of the oldest continuously operated Boy Scout Troops in the state; Troop 4. She helped countless young men achieve their eagle scout award. Joyce was an independent westerner and was a member of the PEO and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church and had a keen interest in genealogy. Joyce Hamilton touched many lives through her teaching, community service, and as a wife, sister, and mother. Her spunk for life, and joyful exuberance brightened lives around her. Once her sweetheart, husband Bob passed, Joyce decided to follow the very next day. Joyce is survived by her younger sister, Avery Ann (Keener) Econome and younger brother, James Oliver Broady Keener, son Robert J Hamilton (Michelle Amiot), daughter Anna J Hamilton, and five grandkids. Services will be held on Saturday, August 13 at First Presbyterian Church of Ogden at 1:00pm. Graveside service will immediately follow at Washington Heights Cemetery. Celebration of Life for both Joyce and Bob will begin at 3:00pm at the FPC of Ogden, hosted by the ladies group.
