Mark Gibbs Willard

Mark Gibbs Willard, age 60, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2022, in Ogden Utah. He was born in the old Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, September 24, 1962, to Sherman E. Willard and Donna May Gibbs Willard.

Mark attended Ben Lomond High School where he was elected Junior Class President through “write-in” votes from his peers. He was active on the wrestling and baseball teams, in which he was very successful. Mark loved art and was an incredible artist. He won numerous awards for his art excellence in the competitions he entered.

Mark earned his Eagle Scout award and served an LDS Mission to Guatemala, which he loved. He attended Weber State College for several years where he continued to excel in the field of Art. Mark was self-employed as a professional artist, having sold his detailed drawings and paintings that hang in homes, businesses, and galleries throughout various parts of the world. Mark was very social and quick to make good friends with whomever crossed his path.

Mark is survived by his three children, whom he loved very much, Mason Willard, Sunni (Josh) Nemeth, Lana (Jacob) Gee, and three grandchildren; Father Sherman E. Willard, sisters Pam Frecker, Nancy Willard, Gina Backman, Jenny Durrant; and Beth Fleming, his dear friend. Special recognition to Cousin Bruce Willard for always being Mark’s muse in the field of laughter.

Mark was proceeded in death by his mother, sister Jodi Lund, and brother-in-law Kent Frecker.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at the Harrisville Stake Center located at 1560 No. 200 W. Harrisville, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to Premier Funeral Services.
