Barbara Lynne Grover Jensen Conley Belnap
February 6, 1948 — January 27, 2022
Barbara Lynne Grover came into this world during a record-breaking snowstorm on February 6, 1948 in Coalville, Utah. “Bobbie”, as she was affectionately called by loved ones was the 2nd child and only girl among five brothers born to LeGrand and Viola Lucille Darcey Grover. She was a beautiful child with crystal blue eyes and curly brown-auburn hair with blonde highlights. Her family lived in Clearfield until she was 6, then moved to Layton until settling in Sunset at the age of 15.
Bobbie enjoyed playing and competing in softball, baseball and volleyball. She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1966 and went on to study modeling at Patricia Steven’s Career College. She apprenticed under a German chef at Teton Village in Jackson Hole, WY.
On August 16, 1968, she married Dennis LeRoy Jensen and settled down on the east bench of Ogden. Bobbie and Dennis were blessed with four children, Matthew, Monica, Daniel and Andria. They later divorced.
On August 17, 1979, Barbara was remarried to John Wayne Conley in the Ogden Utah Temple, gaining two more sons, John and Kevin. Barbara and John were able to have their six children sealed to them for all time and eternity.
She and John were married until his passing on January 15, 2011 from Alzhiemers and Parkinsons Disease. Throughout his 10 year-long illness, Barbara was a dedicated and compassionate caregiver to John even as she suffered through many health issues herself.
Along with being a wife and mother, Barbara had a career outside the home over the years working for HAFB, IRS, Thiokol, Jack Parsons, and Flying J. She and John built and owned a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory franchise for four years in St. George before selling it to return to northern Utah to be closer to their grandchildren. While in St. George, Barbara was active in the Chamber of Commerce. She volunteered her decorating skills to the St. George Christmas Jubilee of Trees, where her beautifully decorated trees were auctioned off for charity. She also trained, obtained a license, and began practicing as a Utah Real Estate Agent during this time.
While raising her children, she enjoyed many activities such as camping, hiking and road trips. Barbara was an expert home chef who wasn’t afraid of culinary adventures. She was the original “foodie”! She was an outstanding candy maker and was also talented with sewing, decorating and crafting. She always offered her talents for catering and decorating for weddings of her children and her friends’ children. Barbara was a gregarious person, even writing her own cookbook in the late 1980’s to share many of her wonderful recipes. She loved people and would go above and beyond to serve them.
On May 2, 2015, Barb married Ronald F. Belnap, who sadly, had also lost his eternal companions due to illness. Barb and Ron shared an amazing love and companionship during her final years. Ron is dearly loved by all of her children and grandchildren and willingly accepted the role of father and grandfather. His commitment and love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been felt by all who have been blessed to spend time with him.
Barb served faithfully in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite calling was her most recent calling, serving alongside Ron in the Ogden Temple as Ordinance Workers.
Throughout her adult life, Barb suffered many health issues ranging from diabetes, cancer, kidney failure, a kidney transplant and all of the side effects of these conditions. She is forever grateful for her children and Ron, who helped take care of her during these struggles. She is grateful for the medical miracles performed at the University of Utah Hospital, the Huntsman Cancer Institute and her many doctors, nurses and technicians, and the Ogden City EMT/Paramedics who have helped her many times throughout these challenges.
She has been blessed with 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who will proudly carry on her legacy. She is survived by her husband, Ron; her children, John Conley (Jill), Kevin Conley (Tanya), Matthew Conley (Christy), Monica Kapp, Daniel Conley; Ron’s children; three brothers, Terry (Vicki) Grover, Steven (Cheryl) Grover and Brian Paige. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, two brothers, her husband, John W. Conley and her daughter, Andria Munoz.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
