Rebecca Anne van Uitert and Jason Edmund Howell, both age 44, passed away in Mountain View, Hawaii on Monday, January 31, 2022. Jason and Rebecca were married on October 26, 2002 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rebecca and Jason were sealed as an eternal family to their four children in the Salt Lake Temple on July 22, 2016.
Jason and Rebecca are survived by their four children, Maria Louise, Jesus Jason, Manuel Benjamin, and Roxana Elizabeth, as well as their parents, siblings, and many beloved cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Rebecca and Jason’s funeral will be held Monday, February 14 at 11:00 am MT in the Heber East Stake Center (LDS Church building). The address is 2395 S Mill Road, Heber City, Utah 84032. There will be a viewing Sunday evening February 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm MT and prior to the funeral service on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 am MT in the same location. For those unable to attend in person, funeral services will also be broadcast online at (https://www.myers-mortuary.com). The family kindly asks that those attending in person wear masks.
The couple is best remembered for their love of family, their kindness, their passion for service, and their commitment to improving the world and the local community. To honor that tradition the van Uitert Howell Memorial Foundation has been established by the family in their memory. With the help of their children, all funds received by the foundation will be distributed to charitable causes in their name. Primary mission areas of the foundation include improving health in underserved populations and human rights advocacy. The family invites donations to the van Uitert Howell Memorial Foundation in lieu of flowers.
