Margaret Jean Holm

Jan 8, 2022

My life adventure came to an end in the morning of January 7, 2022. I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to my parents Harry F. Price and Margaret Houston Price. My greatest adventure started with my marriage and then the birth of my children. My husband, Harold E. Holm, preceded me in death. My children survive me: my daughter, Margaret Jayne Holm, and my sons, Richard (Marian) Holm and Michael (Debbie) Holm. I am also survived by my five grandchildren, two great grandsons and my siblings Bob Price and Alice Gilman. At my request there is no service. Consider taking a senior to lunch instead.

Never one to toot her own horn, beyond the above few words penned by Jean her descendants wish to include additional sentiments about their mother and grandmother. Jean lived most of her life in Sunset, Utah where she raised her three kids with her husband, a journey she viewed as the privilege of her life. She was also deeply involved in the lives of her grandchildren and cared for her parents and siblings. In addition to her family, Jean enjoyed spending time with her friends, walking everyday, playing bridge, looking at Utah’s beautiful mountains, gardening, staying informed of current events, and continuing a passion she learned from her mother of collecting dolls and educating others about their history. She helped to establish one of the first doll clubs in Utah. She was lucky enough to travel the world with her husband, whom she loved dearly, and had many adventures with.

Jean was the best friend of many. She was always a giver. She gave her time, energy, and impressive wit to her family, her friends, and her community. We carry with us the lessons she taught and offer one to the reader now that feels particularly appropriate in these times: “life is hard by the yard but by an inch it’s a cinch.”
