Stephen Andrew Dunn

Jan 21, 2022

Stephen Andrew Dunn, fondly known as “Stevie Ray” was born in Los Alamos New Mexico to Theodore and Eleanor Dunn in 1956. He was the youngest of three children, joining sister Shirley and brother David.

In the Summer of 1978, with a love for the Denver Broncos, Steve put down his own roots and started a family in Denver Colorado where his son Ted was born. The family later moved to Ogden, Utah to be close to family and were then blessed with daughter Alicia.

In 1986, Steve married Peggy and welcomed her three children into his life and heart as if they were his own. The two blended their families, providing a life of adventure and love to their five children.

Weekdays may have been spent working hard in the car business, but nobody knew the meaning of a weekend more than Steve. He enjoyed the outdoors and preferred to spend his spare time on a boat, golf course, or around a campfire with family.

At home, he enjoyed time with Peggy and the two of them built a life of love and respect that the kids could look up to. When he wasn’t tending to the yard or rooting for the Denver Broncos, he was having competitions of his own to see who could have the best Christmas light display on the block.

Whether it was camping, fishing, or yearly trips to Lake Powell, Steve worked hard to ensure the kids would have lasting memories.

Once the kids were grown, Steve and Peggy followed his love for the car business to the Boise, Idaho area.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and sister Shirley.

Steve is survived by his stepmother AnnAlene and brother David Dunn. He is also survived by his wife Peggy, and their five children. Steve’s contagious smile will be greatly missed by his children, Nikki (Giuliano) Genco, Ted (Sara) Dunn, Tawna (Charlie) Noble, Alicia (Dee) Herbert and Troy (Shandy Lam) Thompsen. It was a smile that was never bigger or brighter than when sharing time with or stories of his seven grandchildren Luke, Josie, Stevie, Ginevra, Alex, Greta, and Alina.

Steve passed peacefully at home on Friday, January 14th at the age of 65. A private service will be held for the family to honor Steve’s wishes. Memories and condolences may be shared on Steve’s Facebook page or at https://bit.ly/rememberingstevedunn.
