“Together Again”

David Jae Rogers, 89, of Clinton, Utah, peacefully slipped the bonds of this earth at home on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 2:53 p.m.

Dad was born in Upalco, Duchesne, Utah on October 1, 1932 to Milan Rufus and Romola Rees Rogers.

He was raised in Upalco and graduated from Altamont High School where he met the love of his life, Lois Bleazard. They married on June 8, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. By the time Dad was 31 and Mom was 29 they had eight children. They were married for 66 years. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, friend and neighbor.

Dad was employed at Hill Air Force Base as a Civil Servant in management. The family lived in Roy, Utah. After 28 years he retired and he and Mom became Snowbirds flying south to St. George, Utah for the winters.

Dad was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions of leadership in the wards he lived in. Dad and Mom were called to the Roanoke Virginia Mission, and they later served a mission at the Latter-day Saints Cannery in Ogden, Utah.

Dad was a hard worker and could not settle for less than perfection. He had a mind for numbers and could calculate exact measurements for his projects. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and canning from his garden. He and Mom made thousands of quilts for the Delta Airlines project at Primary Children’s Hospital. He was most happy when he had a project to work on.

Dad is survived by his children: Debra Louise (Max) Green, David Jae II (Wendy) Rogers, Pamela Jean (Doug) Gard, Jamie Lynne (David) Garner, Catherine Lois (Randy) Williams, Lauri Anne (Brent Junior) Hammon, Richard Milan (Lezlie) Rogers, and Amy Lu (Matt) Muscolino; 25 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Jon Ramon Rogers. Dad was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Lois, grandson, David Jae Rogers III, great-grandson, Afton Jae Hammon, brothers, Rees and Max Rogers and sister, Joyce Spurlock.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
