Jackie Joette Lamberth Williams Nye

July 18, 1943 — July 24, 2022

Jackie Nye passed away on July 24, 2022, from the ravaging effects of cancer. She was born July 18, 1943, in Houston, Texas to James Daniel Lamberth and Mamie Maxine Ferris. She lived in Houston and Dallas and later the family moved to San Bernardino, California where she graduated from high school. She met Richard Lee Williams and they married on May 26, 1964, in Flagstaff, Arizona. The lived in California, Oregon and Brigham City, Utah. Their children and spouses are Laura Page (Steve) Cousins, Patricia Joette (Arie) Craig, Richard Bedford (Biff) (Kristin) Williams and Skip McLauren (Bonnie) Williams. Jackie and Richard later divorced. She married Donald Victor Nye on October 24, 1986, in Ogden, Utah and she inherited six more children: Chris Donald (Sandy) Nye, Sheila (Brad) Waters, Troy Alan (Kristi) Nye, Marlene (Darrin) Caulford, Mark Jason (CodiAnn) Nye and Jamie Dawn (Bryant) Hamill.

Jackie went to work at Weber State University in January 1987 and had a very successful career and retired after twenty-seven and a half years, at the age of 71. She and Don bought their first home together in North Ogden in 2012 where she resided until she passed away. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, and she was a true lover of the world around her. She was an amazing seamstress. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t sew. When she and Don married, she had few clothing items that bore a label. She’d shop, find something she liked, buy a pattern and material and would make it.

She leaves behind a legacy of ten children, twenty-seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren as well as her loving husband Don, Her sister Jeanne (Jay) Zincke, Her brothers Ron (Elena) Lamberth and Larry Lamberth, and a sister-in-law Judy Lamberth. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Rick and Les Lamberth. A Special thanks to Doctor Derrick Haslam of the St. George IHC, and the cancer center staff at the McKay Hospital in Ogden, as well as all those who cared for Jackie from Aspire Hospice.

Cremation under the direction of Leavitt’s Mortuary in Ogden with inurnment in the Cremation Gardens at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park. Jackie, in her true character, chose not to have any public service, but there will be a private service in the future.
