Jun 6, 2022

May 1, 1931 – June 5, 2022

Geraldine Manning Brown, 91, passed away peacefully the morning of June 5, 2022. She was born May 1, 1931, to Arthur Franklin and Ethel Clayton Manning in Farmington, Utah.

She attended Weber High School and married her high school sweetheart Jay W. Brown on September 24, 1948. Later they solemnized their marriage on September 16, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Gerrie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a firm testimony of the gospel. Mom served in various positions in the Primary and Relief Society organizations. She loved to watch Dad play church basketball and fast pitch softball.

Gerrie was a homemaker first and a part-time career lady second. She always made good home-cooked meals but didn’t like to cook. There was always a plate of food in the oven on warm if us kids weren’t home at mealtime. She worked part-time at Dave Welling Travel Service and then Fishburn Travel. Her hobbies were crocheting hot pads, which many of you have, afghans, bowling with Dad, and reading Debbie Macomber books.

Gerrie is survived by her two children Debra (David) Humphreys of North Ogden, Terry (Carol) Brown of Pleasant View; 9 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jay; son Randy Jay Brown; her parent’s Art and Ethel Manning; sister Donna (Jack) Gordon; two brothers Milton (Marilyn) Manning and Melvin (Doris) Manning.

The family would like to “Thank” Dr. Steven Wynn, the caregivers, and staff at The Auberge, as well as the caregivers and staff at A+ Hospice, for all of the loving tender care of our mother.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 10, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 E. 2850 N., No. Ogden, Utah, with Bishop Brad Odekirk officiating.
