Grant H. Black

March 9, 1939 — June 9, 2022

Grant H. Black age 83 passed on June 9th, 2022. He was born March 9th, 1939, in Moab Ut to Dee and Melba Black.

Grant graduated from San Juan High and four years at Weber state college in the sheet metal apprenticeship.

Grant started his sheet metal career in 1959, he installed heating and air in 113 Kmart all over the country he retired from Harris and Hart inc. in 2001.

He raced horses for several years setting track records in three different states.

He enjoyed chariot racing, horse racing, raising exotic pheasants, ATV riding, fishing, building a western town (Black Heart Ranch) in Dove Creek UT.

Grant was preceded in death by his parents Dee and Melba (Helquist) Black, Brother DeRoyce Black, sister ReNae (Black) Steele, Lilian (Black) Brown, son-in-law John Swanke and Grandson CeJay Connery.

He married Myrna Madsen and later divorced.

Grant is survived by the love of his life Treva Daniel Black, Brothers; Arden Black, Albert (Connie) Black, sister-in-law Pat (DeRoyce) Black, Children Jeff (Brenda) Black, Kelly Black, Connie (Mick) Miller, Daneen (John) Swanke, Lesley Connery, Chuck (Anna) Connery and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with a Viewing held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
