Mar 14, 2022

April 18, 1962 — March 8, 2022

Paulene Markham Gibbons, 59, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

Paulene was born on April 18, 1962, in Ogden, Utah to Cleary Hence and Dorothy Poll Markham Jr.

She was the fourth of five children. Paulene grew up in the close-knit community of South Weber surrounded by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was blessed to have her cousins as her best friends throughout her childhood.

Paulene attended Clinton Elementary, North Davis Junior High, and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1980.

Paulene married Howard Wayne Gibbons in Ogden, Utah on February 27, 1982. They recently celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary.

She has been employed at IRS for the past 22 years where she made many good friends.

Paulene loved flowers and definitely had a green thumb. She loved working in her yard planting beautiful flower gardens. Paulene loved all animals, but especially her many beloved dogs, Wolf, Reba, Gunner, Beta, and Fang. Every stray was welcomed into her home where they were loved and taken care of. She also loved horses and was a cowgirl at heart.

Paulene was the neighborhood mom to all the kids, and all of her children’s friends. Everyone only knew her as mom, never by Paulene. The only thing Paulene loved more than her fur babies was her family. She loved each one of them deeply and unconditionally. They will love and miss her forever.

Paulene was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and her oldest son, Joshua Howard.

She leaves behind her husband, Howard, her son, Bobby, her daughter, Chelsey, and her granddaughter, Addalyn Dorothy, who was the light of her life! She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen (David) Johnson, and brothers Dennis (Diana) and Troy (Kathy) Markham.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. Friends and family are invited to visit with family from 12:30-1:30 pm prior to the services. Interment in the Uintah City Cemetery.
