Solon Pierce Hunter “LUKE”

Our sweet loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend Solon Pierce Hunter fondly known by “Luke” passed away on April 27th at the age of 83. Luke was born on June 26, 1938, to Solon Isaac Hunter and Rosie Carter Hunter in Stephens Arkansas. He graduated from Carver High School in Stephens, he was also a veteran of the US Army. Luke married Velma Jackson and to their union, two children were born; Tracy and Latrece. He later married Sharon Schulte Cunningham, and they were blessed with 3 children Debbie, Nicole, and Jason. In his younger years, Luke enjoyed bowling, manicured lawns, and barbeque. Spending time with family and friends, watching football, basketball, and golf, and taking long leisure car rides.

Luke was preceded in death by his Parents: Solon and Rosie Hunter, Son: Tracy Daughter: Nicole, brothers: Charles, Wyndon, Jim (Eartha) Hunter, and his sister Louise Randall (Frank). Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters Latrece Macon, Avondale AZ, Debbie Close, Clearfield UT, Jason Hunter, SLC, UT, and Ronald Bynum (Angela) McNeil, AR. Daughter-in-law Ethel Hunter (Tracy) Houston TX, Brother: Joseph LA, CA. Sister: Mae Alexander (Paul) Stephens AR, Seven Grandchildren: Jordan, Brandon, Patrece, Petra, Daislyn, Kade and Aria, and five Great-grandchildren, Luke will be sorely missed. The Hunter family would like to thank Maria, Veo, and the staff at the Atienzo Assisted Living and Solace Hospice Care in Goodyear, AZ for the tireless loving care they provided to Luke through this difficult time. “Papa” as they affectionately called him during his stay was in very good capable, compassionate hands. Thank you, Marie, Veo, and staff. Graveside services will be held at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary. Saturday at 11:00 am.
