Arthur Glade Sycamore

August 6, 1940 ­– November 12, 2022

Arthur Glade Sycamore, passed away on November 12, 2022, in Ogden, Utah. He was born on August 6, 1940, in Brigham City, Utah, the son of Harold and Jean Goodsell Sycamore.

Glade attended school in the Brigham area and graduated from Box Elder High School. Following his graduation, he went to work at the Sycamore Grocery Store.

He married Karen Lichtenstein. Together they had two sons, Garen and Cameron, they later divorced.

Glade married his sweetheart, Kip Armstrong, and added her two sons: Tim and John to his family. They were happily married for over 50 years.

Throughout his life Glade worked many jobs including as an Assistant Manager and Safeway, a Custodian and both Lakeview Elementary and Discovery Elementary, where he retired as Head Custodian. With his approachable personality and ability to make those around him smile, there were many students who trusted him like family.

He loved his classic country music and dancing with Kip. Glade was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and fishing at his property at Lava Hot Springs. He loved watching football on Sunday with his family and bowling, both playing and watching. He often embarrassed his grandson with his boisterous cheering at his sporting events, showing his fun-loving side. He was family oriented and an amazing husband, father, and grandpa. Glade had an ability to make everyone feel like his best friend and enjoyed meeting new people to share his time with. His sense of humor, flare for exaggeration, and storytelling will be remembered by all.

Survived by his wife Kip, his children: Garen Hyer, Cameron Sycamore, Timothy Francis and John Lee Francis, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Patricia Fisher.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah.
