Diana Lee Allen Stevens

Diana Lee Allen Stevens passed away on September 29, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 11, 1944, the oldest of 5 siblings, to Howard Allen and Beverly Pyper Allen. At a young age, Diana moved to Logan, Utah. She graduated from Logan High School where she danced her way through to become the Logan High School Dairy Queen.

Diana was married in California to Allen Stevens. She and Allen moved to Santa Ana, California, where they gave birth to their only daughter, Carlene. Diana and Allen were later divorced, and Diana moved back to Farmington, Utah, where she raised her daughter.

Diana was an incredible woman. She bought a house built in the 1800s in Farmington, and over the years, remodeled it to perfection. She began her career as a secretary at the Farmington Sheriff’s Office. She moved on to the Bountiful police department, where she became a police officer and was later invited to attend the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia, where she became the first woman in Utah to complete the training.

After furthering her career in law enforcement and detective work, she retired, sold her home in Farmington, and moved to a cabin in Fruitland, Utah, where she lived for 17 years. This was her place to “check out” of society after witnessing many unnerving crimes in law enforcement. The cabin became a place where many good memories were built with her family and friends including painting rocks, tie dying shirts, zip lining across the river, tea parties, etc. She was the most creative grandma who taught the kids so much. In 2010, she sold her cabin and moved back to Ogden. In 2021 she moved to her final home at Covington Assisted Living in Farmington.

She is survived by her daughter, Carlene (Ron) Kemp of Layton; her grandchildren Garrett Kemp (Vanessa Guetschow), Josie Kemp, Anna Kemp, and Walker Kemp; her sister Dorothy Dattage, brother Scott Allen, sister Barbara (Jack) Vandever, and brother Darrell (Tami) Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Bonnie Allen, brother-in-law Alan Dattage, and niece Tina Yensen.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 4 pm to 6 pm, at the Ogden Airport Gateway Center, 4248 South 1650 West, Ogden, UT.
