Our dear, sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother passed away on the September 17, 2022, at the age of 97. She will once again be reunited with Jimmy, the love of her life.

Donna was born March 27, 1925 in Ogden, Utah, to Howard Eugene and Helen Marie Long Jensen. She is the oldest sister to Elaine (Ben) Allington and Glen (Naudine) Jensen. She graduated from Ogden High School, Class of 1943. Donna married Ronald James Harlin on November 27, 1944; they met as pen pals while he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. They had been married for almost 43 years before his passing on October 25, 1986.

She was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, meeting regularly with her sorority sisters for over 70 years. She was a member of the Aglaia Club, serving twice as president and also a member of the Chareya Club. Donna was a member of the Ogden Ladies of Elks, Does Drove No. 27, where she also served as president. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at the St. Benedicts Hospital. In her later years she was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Camp Sandridge, serving as Historian.

After receiving her instructor’s license, she taught Cosmetology for several years at Hollywood Beauty College and Weber State College.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings to include teaching Primary and Mutual, and serving in the Relief Society as Second Counselor. She also served as a Visiting Teacher and Compassionate Service Leader. She was sealed to Jimmy in the Ogden LDS Temple on December 16, 2000. Donna was a member of the Monte Vista Roy Ward, where she had many dear friends.

Donna and Jimmy had two children, Kathie L. (Don) Pantone and Michael J. (Lori) Harlin. She had seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, and many close nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home staff for the wonderful care and compassion given to Donna during her time there. We would also like to thank Susan Hale for the love and kindness she showed our mother through her many visits, flowers, treats, and manicures. The family is grateful for the additional care provided by Bristol Hospice during Donna’s final days.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
