Carol Biddulph Godfrey
December 30, 1947 — April 1, 2023
Our loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Carol Lea Biddulph Godfrey, 75, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from heart failure.
Carol was born December 30, 1947, in Ogden, Utah. She was adopted by Jack Preston and Etta Anderson Biddulph. She was the love of their lives. Later in life, Carol connected with her birth mother Georgina Deeter. As a child, Carol loved going on camping trips with her parents and watching her dad fish. Carol was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1966. Two years later she graduated from Weber State College as a Registered Nurse. She later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Utah.
Carol married Rodger Godfrey in 1971, they had one son and two daughters. They later divorced.
Carol adored being a nurse and taking care of patients. She worked at McKay Dee Hospital for nearly 50 years. She worked with cardiac and critical care patients. Over the years, she enjoyed working with amazing co-workers and physicians. Carol also loved teaching and spent many of her nursing years educating patients and staff. She was an excellent teacher.
Carol is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings including, Primary, Young Women’s, Relief Society and Sunday School. Carol enjoyed belonging to the church choir. Carol treasured attending the temple. She was a thoughtful person and loved serving others.
Family was everything to Carol. She supported her girls in everything they did. She loved spending time with her daughters and their families. Carol had a gift for celebrating the holidays and throwing parties. She also had the best sense of humor and liked to make everything fun. The many traditions she started will be continued by her daughters. Carol was an amazing grandma and spent time babysitting, baking, painting, crafting, playing store and so much more with her beloved grandchildren. She loved to travel and had many favorite family destinations including Hawaii, Bear Lake, Disneyland and Cedar City for the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
Carol had many wonderful close friends with whom she enjoyed plays, movies, lunches, and traveling. She loved celebrating birthdays and talking on the phone for hours with them. She cherished these friendships.
Carol had many hobbies and interests. She had a special love for animals. She had many pets throughout her life, most recently, her cat Maui. Carol missed Maui whenever she was away from home. Carol was very talented and creative. She was a wonderful artist. Carol did oil painting, watercolors, toll painting, ceramics, porcelain dolls, and scrapbooking. She was an avid reader and loved collecting books. Carol also enjoyed spending time at the senior center.
The family would like to give special thanks to all those who provided care and support in the last few weeks of her life, especially those at Inspiration Hospice, who took great care of Carol and were very compassionate.
Carol is survived by her daughters: Lisa (Cormick) Campbell and Natalie (Adam) Boswell; eight grandchildren: Braxton (Kenlee), Celeste (Monsy), Landan, Case, and Callie Campbell; Kya, Tylee, and Crue Boswell.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents: Jack and Etta Biddulph; birth mother: Georgina Deeter; son: Matt Godfrey.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden Utah, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 South Washington Blvd. Ogden Utah, at 1:00 p.m.
