Richard Chatterton

R. “Richard” Chatterton, a loving husband and father, a dedicated aircraft maintenance worker for the Department of Defense, and a funny and supportive friend to many, passed away on July 31, 2023. Born on August 2, 1941, in Preston, ID. Richard was sealed to his wife, Sandra, in the Salt Lake Temple April 4, 1962. Richard made his home in Roy, Utah where he lived a fulfilling life surrounded by the warmth of his family and friends.

Richard, a man of many passions, was particularly fond of baseball, hunting, and fishing and spending time at Bear Lake on the family property. He also loved old cars. However, his family was his greatest love. Richard embodied this, wrapping his family in unwavering love and support throughout his life.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sandra Chatterton, their children, Stacey (Russell) Carlsen and Dale (Michelle) Chatterton, his 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. And his sister Laurel (Lane) Sheppick.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Agnes Chatterton. His sisters Joan, Clair and Susan.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Myers Mortuary – Roy, 5865 S. 1900 W., Roy, UT. A viewing will also be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 am. Followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at the Monte Vista Ward, 3845 South 2000 West, Roy, UT.

Interment will be at the Clearfield City Cemetery.
