Clara Johnson
February 3, 1938 – August 5, 2023
Clara Johnson peacefully passed away in her home, surrounded by family on Saturday, August 5, 2023. She was born on February 3, 1938, in Dayton, Idaho. She was a daughter of Alma Henry Bowden and Myrtle Danielson Bowden.
She was united in marital bliss at the Logan LDS Temple on June 6, 1956, to Calvin Johnson, a wonderful and loving man, who was destined to be her best friend and eternal soulmate for 64 memorable and glorious years! Together they had five sons and two daughters.
She was an excellent mother who loved to cook and bake for her family. She made the best apple pie, homemade bread, and cinnamon rolls. She encouraged her children to follow their dreams, and to always be humble and kind.
She had many leadership callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which included the Relief Society and Young Women organizations.
She was able to serve two missions with her husband: Service Mission in Ogden, Utah, and a Senior Mission in Nauvoo, Illinois.
Clara is survived by her children and their spouses; Calvin Lee (Krist Mejia), Caren Johnson (Jeff Cassidy), Cary Johnson (Julie), Craig Johnson (Kathy), Chad Johnson (Judie), Charla Lucero (Jack), Timothy Yazzie (Rebecca), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents, brothers, and sisters.
Clara’s family would like to give special thanks to CNS Hospice. They were her angels giving her loving care.
Graveside services for family and friends will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, 11:30 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 North Monroe Blvd, Ogden, Utah. There will be a public viewing prior from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah.
