LaMoine Walker

1939 – 2023

We are sad to say LaMoine Walker passed away on August 6, 2023. He was born in Ogden, Utah on July 5, 1939 to Henry and Ruby Walker. He was raised in Hooper, Utah. He graduated from Weber High School where he played baseball and basketball. After graduation, he served an LDS mission to St. Paul, Minnesota. When he returned from his mission, he played baseball for the Salinas Pilots in Salinas, California. Upon his return to Utah, he attended classes at Weber State. LaMoine married Diana McCracken in December of 1962. Together they had two sons, Rick and Chad. Diana passed away on February 18, 1973. LaMoine served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He worked at Hill Air Force Base working on the Minuteman Missile as a Design Engineer until his retirement. LaMoine married Carol Durand on August 1, 1976. Carol brought into the family her daughter and son. LaMoine and Carol enjoyed traveling in their RV to several states. They were snowbirds in St. George for many years. LaMoine was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed watching Nascar, being a Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. LaMoine is survived by his wife, his son Rick (Kristin) Walker and their two children (Skyler and Diana); his step-daughter Jody (John) Coy and their two children (Alex and Amanda); and his step-son Jim. He is preceded in death by his first wife Diana, his son Chad Lee, his parents and grandparents and a half-sister. There will be no funeral services per LaMoine’s request. His ashes will be placed in Myers Evergreen Memorial Park at 100 N. Monroe Blvd., Ogden, UT.
