Michael Frank McCormick

Dec 1, 2023

1946 – 2023

Michael Frank McCormick, aged 77 passed away on November 29, 2023 in his home with his family beside him. Mike was born October 28, 1946 in Ogden, UT to Frank and Joyce McCormick.

Mike was raised in North Ogden, Utah with his two brothers, Lex (Bev) and Jed (Pam). Mike graduated from Weber High School; he then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Weber State University. As a young man Mike served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York where he met his lifelong friend Arlo Faucett. His testimony of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father was real, and defined his later life when Mike and JaNae served a senior mission in Canada at the Thomas S. Monson girl’s camp.

He married Marilyn Stephens and had three children: Clint (Lisa) McCormick, Mindy (David) Hales, and Coleen (Tyler and the late Heath) Briggs. Later in life he met and married JaNae Favero and became a loving stepfather to Heidi (Bob) Edwards and Shaunie (Ryan) Rushton. Then together they had a son Brock “Golden Child” (Whitney) McCormick, and enjoyed 44 years of happy marriage. His favorite part was the grandkids. Together Mike and JaNae have 22 grandkids and 12 great grand kids.

Always the adventurer. To say Mike loved hunting, horses and mack fishing is an understatement. The only thing bigger than the fish he caught or the bucks he shot, were the stories he told. A lifetime of memories can be shared around campfires and deer camps for generations to come. Some of his favorites though were mischievous brotherly adventures, that would make Huck Finn jealous. As much as he loved the hunts, he loved bragging about his grandchildren best of all. Countless hours spent driving after every game, match, rodeo, dance competition, musical performance, baby blessing, and wedding. He never wanted to miss anything, and hardly ever did. Mike always wanted to look over one more hill, and find the next adventure, and so he has done so once again.
