Howard Dee “Bud” Richens

Howard Dee “Bud” Richens of Plymouth Utah, passed away on December 6, 2023. Born February 15, 1939, in Roosevelt, Utah the son of William Lenar Richens and Dena Cope Richens.

Howard was raised in Eden, Utah, and later made his home in Plymouth, Utah. He was a retired electrician, formerly employed by General Mills. Howard was a dedicated Scout Master for many years. Known for his gentle manner, caring nature, and vibrant sense of humor, Howard touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.

Howard had a love for nature that extended to being an avid gardener, caring for many house plants, dogs, guinea fowl and as many stray cats as he could find. He had a knack for woodworking, skillfully crafting beautiful pieces, often that defied explanation. The family wants to express their gratitude to the staff at the Gables and extend their love to his best friend and roommate, Alma, for her unwavering support.

Howard was a devoted father to his children, Robert (Karin) Richens and Randee Jo Richens Mueller, and a doting grandfather to seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Dena (Cope) Richens, his brother Cecil Richens, and sister Verdon Smith.

A viewing will be held in honor of Howard “Bud” Richens on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 9:30 am – 10:30 am at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah, 84302. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Eden, Utah.
