Patricia “Pat” Wold Kunz

Patricia “Pat” Wold Kunz, 83, passed peacefully on Dec. 9, 2023, surrounded by her family. Pat was born July 16, 1940, in Ogden, Utah to Mary Carroll and Dellis Wold and then raised by her stepfather, Robert Penton.

She graduated from Ogden High in 1958 and went to work as a stewardess for United Airlines before settling in Ogden to start her family. She then went on to work for Pepsi Co. until her retirement.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Jim Wold, Bob Penton, Mary Ann Penton, and her daughter, Amy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gene Kunz, a fellow Ogden High graduate of ’58, her children Lisa (Brett) Bateman, Scott (Jen) Mendoza, and Jennifer (Brady) Liddell, her eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and her beloved dog, Oscar.

Pat will be remembered for her quick wit, frog-eye-salad, avid puzzling, and dedicated time spent with her grandchildren whose birthdays, performances, and games she never missed. Pat enjoyed not only listening to Adele but also traveling to Las Vegas with Gene to see Celine Dion’s residency and attending A Kurt Bestor Christmas every holiday season with her family. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and served as a Pink Lady at St. Benedicts for several years.

Her family would like to thank her doctors in Ogden and Salt Lake City, Inspiration Hospice, and the staff at The Abbington of Murray who provided supportive and peaceful end-of-life care.

Pat will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, at Leavitt’s Mortuary in Ogden. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and is open to all family and friends.
