Mimi Scheer, 98, of Clinton, passed away on Dec 12, 2023, peacefully at home. Mimi was born June 4, 1925, to Eliza and Margaret Grietje Brinksma Schot in Leeuwarden Netherlands. The family moved to Amsterdam where she met the love of her life Arnold Scheer. They were married Nov 13, 1946, in Amsterdam Holland. Their marriage was solemnized later when they came to the United States in the Salt Lake City Temple on Apr 25, 1951. After 71 wonderful years together Arnold passed away. She had a strong testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and held many positions with the church. Arnold & Mimi worked for 19 years in the Name Extraction program for the church and enjoyed doing that together. Mimi loved her family and loved being together and talking about all the memories they had together. She had such a bright mind that she could remember all her childhood and her life and loved to tell everyone she could about them. She wants to thank her granddaughter Shelley Miller and her husband Quinten for welcoming her into their home and the loving care they showed her. Mimi is survived by her niece Carla (Leonard deceased) Peterson. Her grandchildren Kent Ward, Jeffrey (Joy) Ward, Shelley (Quinten) Miller, Deon Ward Brown, Andrea (Edward) Jeppson and one Brother Andrew (Joann) Schot. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Arnold, her parents and one sister and one brother and one grandson Kris Ward whom she loved dearly. A viewing will be held on December 18, 2023 at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th St in Ogden, Utah, from 10 am to 11 am with the burial at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park.
