Ida Elsa Kunzler Barker

Ida Elsa Kunzler Barker, 89, passed away December 27, 2023. She was born March 7, 1934, in Willard, Utah, the daughter of William and Elsa (Wolsky) Kunzler. She attended school in Willard and graduated from Box Elder High School.

Ida married Boyd Barker on May 5th, 1955, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They lived in Los Angles California until they moved to Pleasant View Utah in 1972.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was very active in the Boy Scouts of America for most of her life. She earned the Silver Beaver Award twice. She was a cub scout leader, Weber View District Chairman, and served as the coordinator for her wards LDS Humanitarian Fund.

Ida received her cosmetology license from Los Angels Trade Tech. She won many trophies with her skills as a beautician. In Utah she retired from the IRS as a tax examiner.

Ida enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cross stitch, sewing, gardening, canning, making candy, doing puzzles and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Kent (Janette) Barker, Joann Barker, Marie (Kelsey Dean) McManis, Leon (Dayna) Barker, Janet (Cole) Weaver, daughter in law Valerie Barker, her sister Carol (Cecil) Smith, 2 brothers Spencer (Andra) and Arnold Kunzler, also 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Boyd Barker, her son Alan Barker, 8 brothers Floyd, Glen, Reese, Ernest, Russell, Mark, William and Lewis, and 1 sister Roseanne Randall.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2023, at the Pleasant View 17th Ward, 900 West Pleasant View Drive with a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment, Willard Precinct Cemetery.
