Andrew Brown

Jan 4, 2023

1976 – 2022

Andrew David Brown (Andy), born in Ogden, UT, on February 9, 1976, passed away on December 21, 2022, in Ogden. Andy lived in the Ogden area his entire life other than the two years spent serving an LDS mission in New England.

His parents are Dave and Linda Brown of North Ogden, and they were so happy when they got to expand to a family of three after many years. Jared joined the family two years later, and Lindsey two years after Jared. A complete family now.

Some of you know him as Andrew, while the first half of his life he was Andy, the same person who loved his flip flops and crocs.

Andy attended Horace Mann Elementary and Mound Fort Jr. High. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1994. Being a “Scottie” meant much more than “just a lot” to him. He loved his years there and keeps in touch with many good friends. He loved playing football, #79. His work ethic and determination helped him become a very good player. Following football each season, he played basketball, using the same skill set from football. He fouled out a lot!

Summer break provided Andy, his siblings and their friends jobs at Lorin Farr swimming pool, where they played as much as they worked. They were fired at least once a week, but they were back the next day. He loved U-2, Pete Yorn, Bob Marley and the movie Napoleon Dynamite. Vote Pedro!

Utah State University offered Andy an opportunity to play football. He worked as hard as he possibly could, and received the “Rudy” award several times.

He loved his New England mission, where he again worked hard. He and his traveling Elder companion may have crossed the mission boundary a few times!

Andy was an excellent scriptorian after his mission and had a passion for learning and discussing them. He loved teaching from them and was the “go-to-guy” for anything scripture related.

Andy met Lauren Adams, they dated, fell in love and married in 2007. This is when he became Andrew. They have four beautiful, smart, funny and kind children. Matyx and Kru, twins, were born in 2009; Journey in 2011; and Aris (Bubba) in 2014. How Andrew loved Lauren and these kids. Sometimes when he would look at them it seemed he was amazed they were his family. He enjoyed their adventures as they grew, learned and changed.

Andrew’s professional career was at OTECH. Helping non-traditional students was his passion. He would guide them towards a career path and find every bit of funding possible, even from himself. He loved his co-workers; they had fun while working hard. He also spent many years working with those with special needs and had a very special love for the clients he served. Andy is survived by his wife Lauren; his children, Matyx, Kru, Journey, and Aris; his parents Dave and Linda; his brother Jared, and sister Lindsey (Josh} Tanner, Many aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews who always enjoyed his company, as well as endless “friends” of such a variety. He enjoyed everyone!

Andy gave the very best of himself in all he did. He leaves a void that is huge but spilling over with love. A Celebration of his Life will be on January 12, 2023, from 5 to 8 pm at the Foundry, 2452 E 6700 S Unit C in Uinta, UT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made for the children’s future expenses. He took much pride in watching them succeed and planted a solid foundation within each child to chase after their dreams.
