Together Again

Kathleen Ivy Hood, 81, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 23, 2023, in Ogden, Utah. Born on April 29, 1942, at Hollywood Hospital in Culver City, CA, the daughter of LeRoy Edwin and Gertrude LaMont.

She graduated from Lyman High School in Wyoming. Kathleen embarked on a career that spanned over 25 years at the IRS as a supervisor. While Kathleen’s professional career was remarkable, it was her role as a wife and mother that truly defined her life. She married the love of her life, Darrell Hood on December 16, 1963, and together they created a loving home filled with laughter and joy. Kathleen was an incredible wife who adored her husband unconditionally.

Kathleen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As a mother, Kathleen poured her heart and soul into raising her children with love and compassion. She instilled in them the values of hard work and kindness. Kathleen’s grandchildren were the light of her life.

Kathleen found joy in simple pleasures. She had a curious mind and loved diving into the pages of books, expanding her knowledge, and exploring new worlds through literature. Crochet was another hobby close to her heart.

Kathleen’s presence is irreplaceable in the lives of those who knew her best. Her remarkable personality filled every room she entered with warmth and kindness. Her quick wit brought laughter to even the driest of moments. Kathleen had an infectious spirit that touched the lives of many.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, dedication, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. While we mourn the loss of our mother, let us also celebrate a life well-lived–a life that was defined by love for family and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

She is survived by her children, Dean Hood, Shawn (Glenda) Hood, Amy (Clynt) Citte, and Misty (Dustun) Johnson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, Paul (Cheryl) LaMont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Hood; her parents; son, Lee Darrell Hood and sister, Colleen McCall.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
