Thomas F. Lang passed away in his home on July 20, 2023. He was born on December 8, 1932 on the Isle of Wight, England. He was raised in England during WWII where he witnessed his country experience the horrors of war around him. He emigrated to the US with his mother and grandmother in 1949. He wanted to serve in the military in either the Navy or Air Force but was denied as he wasn’t a US citizen. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War despite not being a citizen and served overseas. He became a US citizen in 1959. He worked as a journeyman in finance for most of his life. He met his wife Doris in 1977 while working at the IRS and they were married that same year. They made their home in Fresno CA. He was a loving father to his girls and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After returning to Utah in 2004, he proudly served as a volunteer Foster Grandparent for 13 years with the kids at Hillcrest Elementary where he passed his love of reading on to his countless extended grandchildren. He was also a published author of the book, The Haiku Tao Te Ching. Tom never lost his love for his birth country England and would often enjoy Fish and Chips and was rarely seen without his British flat cap.

Tom is survived by his wife Doris M. Lang and four children. Patricia (Mark) Baker, Tamara (Douglas) Cooper, Marie Garner and Beckie (Larry) Fredricks. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
