Lynnette Poulson

1941 –­ 2023

Lynnette Jean McBride Poulson, returned home to our loving Heavenly Father in Heaven, peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the age of 82.

She was born on April 16, 1941, in Ogden, Utah to her loving parents Wilford & Beatrice Shaw McBride. She spent her childhood and young adult life in downtown Ogden.

She met her husband Vernal David Poulson in Ogden as a teenager and eventually married him on June 7, 1958. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on January 12, 1965.

While raising 5 children in Eden, Utah she worked hard and had a very creative, vivid, and active imagination which she developed and shared with all of the generations that followed. She loved and enjoyed many arts, crafts, hobbies, and activities including oil painting, jewelry making, rock hounding, landscaping, home improvements, outdoor survival, camping, backpacking, antique dolls, and antiques in general.

Lynnette helped to provide for her ever-growing family by working various jobs and eventually retired from Hill Air Force Base.

She was a great humanitarian and felt an overwhelming need to help anyone or anything in need. She loved all animals and frequently adopted stray cats and even deer. Lynnette also had a passionate love of trees and plants. She was very vocal and opinionated; often being the cause of debates and conversation, this was part of her spicy charm!

Lynnette loved all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an amazing ability to sing and recite without hesitation, the most fun and oldest nursery rhymes. She loved bringing everyone together for all the holidays with activities and games.

Lynnette was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.

After becoming a widow at the age of 70, Lynnette worked at Abby’s Antiques in Ogden with her dearest friends, one of which was her childhood best friend, Jane Thurman.

She lives on through her amazing children Lisa Ann (Mike) Helms, Amy Beth (Steve) Malan, Vernal Travis (Christine) Poulson, Vernal Dustin (Kimberly) Poulson, Tawnee Dale (Nick) Jex, 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Ogden Regional Emergency Center along with the Weber County Paramedics for their kindness and compassion.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 8, 2023, 11:00 am, with a viewing Wednesday, June 7, 2023, 6-8 pm at Myers Mortuary 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. Interment at Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
