Bonnie Ann Cottam Beal

1942 — 2023

FARR WEST – Bonnie passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2023.

Bonnie was born in October 8, 1942 in Tremonton Utah to Norman Cottam and Violet Beck Cottam. She grew up in Farr West and graduated from Weber High School in 1960.

Bonnie and her husband Michael (Mike) Beal celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 31st. Mike was in the Air Force, and they lived in England and Italy where he was stationed.

Bonnie worked as a Facility Manager at Hill AFB until she retired in 1993. Bonnie and Mike were very active in retirement. They moved to Warrenton, Oregon where they renovated an older home before returning to Farr West to be near family. They built their own house in Farr West – working dawn until dusk for six months, doing most of the labor themselves. Bonnie served on the Farr West City Planning Commission for eight years and remained actively involved in the community.

Bonnie was an avid and skilled quilter. Winning prizes (including Best of Show) at several Weber County Fairs over the years. She also loved gardening, cooking, baking and traveling.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dwight and Guy. She has four children: Beckie (Tanya), Michael (Tracie), Carrie (Fiona) and Amy (Mark). Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Bonnie loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren over the years and made quilts for all of them. Bonnie was a great example to her children. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

Funeral services will be held at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden on Tuesday June 20, 2023 at 11:00am. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Tuesday from 10:00am to 11:00am at the mortuary. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
