Jun 23, 2023

October 26, 1942 — June 11, 2023

Our sweet and loving mother and grandmother Pamela Ford Erickson, 80, returned to her Heavenly Father on June 11, 2023. She was born on October 26, 1942 in Ogden, Utah, to George Arthur and Lorraine Barnes Ford. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. She also received a Bachelor’s Degree from Weber State College, where she met her husband, Byron Kent Erickson at an LDS Institute Dance. They married on July 9, 1964 in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived and raised their family in Washington Terrace.

Pam worked for Intermountain Trailer for many years. She taught geography at South Ogden Jr. and T.H. Bell Jr. High until she started her family. She then stayed home to raise her five children until her youngest child started first grade. Pam then returned to T.H. Bell as the registrar until she retired from Weber School District in 2005. She was a proud Minuteman.

Pam was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Washington Terrace 8th Ward. She served in many callings in the 50 plus years in the Ward. Some of her favorite callings were Young Women’s advisor, Relief Society President, Relief Society teacher. She was a teacher at heart and made sure that she shared her knowledge with everyone around her. She absolutely loved being a Genealogy Missionary and served two missions at the Ogden Family Search Center.

She was an avid reader and loved history. She was a devoted member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers; she joined in 1979 and was able to be the DUP First Attendant in the Ogden Pioneer Parade in 2015. During her later years she spent many joyful days painting ceramics at the senior center. She also loved to crochet, embroidery, and do calligraphy.

Pam is survived by her five children, Tracie Jackson (Kevin), Michael Erickson (Jenny), Nathan Erickson (Jennifer), Matthew Erickson (Brandy), and Nicholas Erickson (Sarah); and her 15 grandchildren, Jilien and Jaden Jackson; Jessica and Lyndsey Erickson, Kiersten Allen (Tyler), Myken Johanson (Erik); Kinsey Black (Patten), Mason Erickson; Gunner, Henley and Remy Erickson; and McKay, Oakley, Grady, and Colby Erickson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kent; her parents, and her brother.

Special thanks go to the Lotus Park Memory Care Assisted Living nurses and caregivers and the staff from Inspiration Home Health and Hospice for taking care of mom for the past 11 months.
